Invisalign has transformed over 18 million smiles worldwide with its innovative approach to orthodontics.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually move your teeth into the desired position. Unlike traditional braces, these aligners are virtually invisible and can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing.
Why Choose Invisalign?
- Discreet: Almost invisible aligners perfect for adults and teens.
- Flexible: Remove aligners for special occasions or meals and enjoy the foods you love.
- Comfortable: Smooth plastic aligners provide a gentler, more consistent force compared to metal braces, reducing irritation.
- Hygienic: It allows you to care for your teeth as usual, making it simple to brush and floss without any adjustments
- Efficient: Potentially shorter treatment times than traditional braces.
When might Invisalign be recommended by my Dentist?
Invisalign may be suitable if you have:
- Crowded teeth
- Gaps between teeth
- Bite issues (overbite, underbite, open bite, or crossbite)
How does Invisalign Work?
What is the Invisalign process?
- Initial Consultation (fees apply and may vary between centres)
Meet with a Pacific Smiles Dental Dentist to discuss your goals. If Invisalign is right for you, a scan or impression of your teeth will be taken. - Custom Treatment Plan
Invisalign will create a computerised 3D representation of your teeth from the impressions taken. Working with your Dentist, this digital model will be used to design a customised treatment plan. Based on this plan, Invisalign will show you how your teeth will shift throughout the program and what results you can expect. - Receiving Your Aligners
Once your treatment plan has been agreed upon, the aligners are made by Invisalign. Aligners are generally worn for 1-2 weeks before you progress to the next stage. The number of aligners needed depends on the patient. - Treatment Process
Invisalign aligners should be worn for around 20-22 hours per day – only removed to eat, drink or clean your teeth. Progress checks with your Dentist are usually required every 8-10 weeks. Treatment can take as little as 6 months but can vary from person to person. Your Dentist will provide you with a personalised treatment plan.
Cost of Invisalign
The cost of Invisalign can vary depending on the amount of work that is required but is almost comparable to what you might pay for traditional orthodontic appliances. Once you have a consultation with a Pacific Smiles Dental Dentist, they will be able to provide you with a cost for the treatment. If you have dental health insurance with orthodontic cover, Invisalign is generally covered. Speak with your health insurer for clarification.
