At Pacific Smiles Dental, we hate it when things expire before you’ve used them.
Most major health funds within Australia have a benefit year commencing on the 1st of January through until the 31st December. This means that if you haven’t used all of your dental benefits before the end of the year, they may expire.
To check whether this includes your health fund, we encourage you to get in touch with your health insurance provider as soon as possible.
We’re a busy bunch of Dentists.
November and December are extremely busy at Pacific Smiles Dental centres as patients flock in to use their benefits before they expire. We’d encourage you to book your appointment early so you don’t miss out.
What dental work is covered under my dental benefits?
It really depends on your health fund and your level of cover. You’re best to check with your health fund to find out what you’re entitled to.
Generally, health funds may cover all or part of your regular dental check-ups for the year, as well as part of your general or major dentistry. If your dentist has recommended a treatment plan, now is a great time to use any remaining benefits before they expire at the end of the year.
Where can I find out more?
For the best information about your health insurance dental benefits, including when these benefits might expire and whether you have any remaining, we recommend you contact your health fund directly. They are the experts, after all!
