Do you have dental cover with an Australian Health Fund? Do your health fund benefits expire on the 31st of December?

If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to both of these questions and you’re due for your next regular dental check-up, then now’s the time to book an appointment.

Most health funds within Australia have a benefit year commencing on the 1st of January through until the 31st December. This means that if you haven’t used all of your dental benefits before the end of the year, they may expire.

If you’re not sure whether your dental benefits expire at the end of the year, we recommend you get in touch with your health insurance provider as soon as possible.

November and December is an extremely busy time at Pacific Smiles Dental with an influx of patients wanting to make use of their dental benefits before they expire. Make sure you book an appointment early so you don’t miss out on using your benefits.

Generally, dental benefits with health funds not only cover regular dental check-ups but also include benefits on treatment including general and major dentistry. If your dentist has recommended a treatment plan now might be a great time to make an appointment to make use of your general and major benefits before they expire at the end of the year.

For more information about your health insurance dental benefits, including when your benefits expire or whether you have any remaining benefits, we recommend you contact your health fund.
