Meet Dr Riaan Foot, Pacific Smiles Dental Tuggerah’s Specialist Orthodontist.

Dr Riaan Foot is a Specialist Orthodontist that is currently practising with Pacific Smiles Dental Tuggerah every Monday.

Dr Riaan was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, completing his undergraduate dental training at the University of Stellenbosch. It was during this time while treating orthodontic patients in the student clinic, that he discovered a passion for orthodontics. He realised that orthodontics had the power not only to improve smiles, but to transform the lives of patients. He gained tremendous satisfaction from seeing the improvement in confidence and self-esteem in patients following treatment, inspiring him to pursue a career in orthodontics.

Following graduation, Dr Riaan worked in a busy private family dental practice. He also enrolled and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Interceptive Orthodontics at the University of the Western Cape.

After relocating to Australia he completed the primary examinations to the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the final examinations of the Australian Dental Council granting him full Dental Board registration. Dr Riaan subsequently completed specialist orthodontic training at the University of Sydney, completing the three year full time specialist training course – Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Orthodontics). He has also been awarded Membership to the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

Dr Riaan has been fortunate enough to lecture both in Australia and abroad and was invited to join the University of Sydney faculty on a part time basis, following graduation, where he tutors and lectures to postgraduate specialist students.

Dr Riaan is available at Pacific Smiles Dental Tuggerah each Monday and alternating Wednesdays. He is ready to enhance the appearance and wellbeing of your teeth and jaw function.
