Meet Dr. Akila S Vithanage, Pacific Smiles Dental Sydney CBD’s newest dentist, specialising in Periodontics.
Dr. Akila S Vithanage is a leading Periodontist located in Sydney and Brisbane. His mission is to provide patients with the highest standard of care for periodontal disease and dental implant treatment.
Dr. Akila is currently appointed as a panel member by the minister of health to the Queensland Health Ombudsman and works with AHPRA as a specialist Periodontist who assists with dental negligence cases. He also runs a private practice in Brisbane and is a Consultant Specialist at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital in Sydney.
Dr. Akila is a local in the Sydney region, he was born in Windsor, NSW and attended Baulkham Hills High School. His passion for healthcare led him to study Dentistry in Queensland to graduate with first-class honours.
Dr. Akila then returned to NSW to specialise in Periodontology concurrently through the University of Sydney and the University of Queensland.
Periodontics is a branch of dentistry that focuses on the health of the gums, bones, and tissues that support the teeth. Dr. Akila enjoys helping patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health, comfort, and function.
