With a career spanning over three decades, Dr Sejal Kotecha brings a wealth of experience, compassion, and a gentle approach to her role at Pacific Smiles Dental Gladesville. Having graduated in 1989 from the prestigious United Medical & Dental School of Guy’s & St Thomas’ in London, Dr Sejal has dedicated her professional life to providing high-quality care to families, with a particular focus on children’s dentistry.
Dr Kotecha began her career in the UK’s NHS, before relocating to Australia and working for six years at Sydney Dental Hospital. She has spent the last 15 years at Pacific Smiles, where her calm demeanour, clinical precision, and warm nature have made her a favourite among patients and their families. Fluent in Gujarati, she can communicate effectively with a wide range of patients in the Gladesville community.
While Dr Kotecha is experienced in all aspects of general dentistry, she has a special interest in caring for children. She takes the time to create a safe, comfortable space for young patients, helping to reduce anxiety and build positive dental habits from a young age. Her approach is gentle, thorough, and patient, ensuring families feel informed and supported at every visit.
Dr Kotecha is passionate about giving back. She has been involved in volunteer work with The Salvation Army and OzHarvest, helping with their annual Christmas food drives and community outreach efforts. These values extend into her daily practice, where she treats each patient with kindness, empathy, and respect.
When not at work, Dr Kotecha enjoys hiking, ocean swimming, kayaking, and travelling. She’s also a lover of the arts and can often be found attending theatre productions. A fun fact? She went to school in Kenya, giving her a truly global perspective on people and cultures.
For Dr Kotecha, the most rewarding part of her career is seeing the impact of her care—especially when patients are genuinely thankful and walk away feeling healthier and more confident.
“Floss daily. It’s a simple but powerful habit that can make a world of difference in preventing gum disease and maintaining oral health.”
