Meet Dr Yiling Yap – Pacific Smiles Dental Deception Bay

Dr Yiling Yap is a General Dentist at Pacific Smiles Dental Deception Bay with 11 years of experience and a special interest in helping patients achieve confident, beautiful smiles.

Yiling graduated from the University of Queensland in 2015 and has since built broad experience across general dentistry. She speaks English, Cantonese and Bahasa Melayu and enjoys working with the diverse patient community at Deception Bay.

Areas of Interest

Dr Yiling provides general dental care, with a particular interest in:

• General dentistry
• Prosthodontics
• Clear aligners
• Veneers
• Preventative dental care

One of the most rewarding parts of being a dentist for Yiling is helping patients whose experience of the dentist has been one of fear and transforming it into something they actually enjoy.

A Welcoming & Confidence-Building Approach

Yiling is passionate about changing the way patients feel about visiting the dentist. She takes the time to build trust and create a positive experience, so that even the most nervous patients can feel at ease and look forward to their next appointment.

Yiling’s tip: Brush first thing in the morning before breakfast (most people do it the other way around!) and make it the last thing you do at night. Regular check-ups every six months are also important to keep on top of your dental health.

Community Involvement

In 2018 and 2019, Yiling joined medical mission trips with her church to the Philippines, providing dental services to communities in need.

Life Beyond Dentistry

When she’s not caring for patients, Yiling enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family.
