From Newcastle to Sydney: A Journey in Patient-Focused Care
Dr. Yong graduated from the University of Sydney, beginning her dental career with Pacific Smiles in Newcastle in 2022. For a while, she balanced her time between the Hunter region and Sydney, but has now happily settled full-time in Chullora, where she’s reconnecting with her roots and enjoying being closer to extended family.
Creating Positive Dental Experiences
As a general dentist, Dr. Yong focuses on helping patients of all ages build long-term, healthy oral habits, especially children and families. Her favourite part of being a dentist is getting to know her patients beyond the chair: learning what makes them tick, easing anxiety, and finding ways to integrate oral hygiene routines into their everyday lives. Whether it’s guiding a nervous child through their first appointment or helping a busy adult simplify their oral care, Dr. Yong believes in gentle, personalised dentistry.
Outside the Clinic
When she’s not creating smiles, Dr. Yong enjoys coastal walks, hiking, crocheting, and baking. A self-described foodie, she loves trying authentic, local foods when travelling—always on the hunt for flavours off the beaten path. She’s also slowly building a quirky collection of dental-themed toys, a fun nod to her love of the profession.
