Dr Loren Hartcher is a highly experienced and compassionate general dentist at Pacific Smiles Dental Charlestown, bringing over 20 years of clinical experience to her practice. Having been part of the Charlestown centre for many years, she is deeply connected to the local community and is known for her warm, approachable manner and long‑standing patient relationships.
Dr Hartcher practises across general dentistry, with special interests in Cosmetic Dentistry, Children’s Dentistry, Invisalign®, Implants, Special Needs Dentistry, and caring for patients with dental anxiety.
Dr Hartcher completed her dental studies at the University of Sydney and has been part of the Pacific Smiles Dental Charlestown team for over two decades. She began her journey at the centre as a dental assistant before studying dentistry, creating a strong personal connection to the practice.
She has spent her career caring for local families, building trusted, long‑term relationships and supporting patients through every stage of life — often across multiple generations.
Dr Hartcher has been recognised for Excellence in Patient Care at the Pacific Smiles Inspire Conference, reflecting her commitment to delivering outstanding patient experiences.
Dr Hartcher has volunteered with the Filling the Gap program and has been actively involved with the Australian Breastfeeding Association, including providing dental education to mothers’ groups and local preschool communities.
Dr Hartcher chose to practise in Charlestown due to her strong ties to the Newcastle and Maitland community. She values working in a centre that feels like an extension of her local community and enjoys building meaningful, long‑term relationships with her patients and their families.
Outside of dentistry, Loren is a busy mum of three and enjoys supporting her children at their sporting events. She also enjoys bushwalking, motorbiking, reading, gardening, dancing, and spending time with family and friends over food and wine.
Dr Hartcher once featured in a YouTube video hosted by Neil Whitaker for a home design project — an experience she found rewarding, though incredibly challenging.
