Dr Alex Wood is a dedicated and approachable general dentist at Pacific Smiles Dental Ballina, passionate about helping patients maintain healthy, confident smiles. Education and Professional Journey
Alex graduated from the University of Leeds, UK, in 2018, and spent over four and a half years practising in London before relocating to Australia with his partner, Anna. After spending a year working in Sydney, he moved to the Northern Rivers region in January 2024, where he enjoys being part of the local Ballina community.
He has a particular interest in temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and sleep bruxism, as well as endodontic treatments, allowing him to provide advanced care for patients with complex dental needs.

For Alex, dentistry is about building trusting relationships with patients from all walks of life. He takes the time to listen carefully to each patient’s needs, explain treatment options clearly, and create a comfortable, reassuring environment. Alex and Anna chose to settle in the Ballina area for its beautiful surroundings, access to the outdoors, and proximity to the ocean. He enjoys connecting with the local community while providing high-quality dental care in a welcoming and friendly environment.
Beyond the Clinic
Outside of dentistry, Alex has a wide range of interests. He enjoys soccer, tennis, skiing, scuba diving, sailing, and golf, as well as travel, photography, and the arts. A fun fact about him: he is a qualified ski and tennis instructor—a testament to his active lifestyle and love of sharing skills with others.
